Text Box: On organs where the swell to great coupling is synthetic versus natural for the stop wiring, the midi swell to great coupling will not operate which also applies to MDS organs. To change to natural coupling remove and tape off this wire that is currently connected to the swell to great coupler stop and reconnect a wire from this stop to pin 14 of J5 or the short edge connector at the side of the keyboard array. OR, you could simply use a blank stop to add this as a midi coupler. Keep in mind that with natural coupling you will not have 12 note polyphony to both keyboards when coupled. Early keyboard arrays may use natural coupling for great to pedal and only have swell to pedal coupling and none have swell to great coupling. You must change to a keyboard array with IC chips if you want to have the couplers enabled and add the small side connector and wire to the coupler stops. Consult factory.
If you decide no longer use the MOS board, a simulator board will be available for purchase or trade for a working MOS board that will provide all the proper signals that will allow the keyboard array and the stop board array to function so that the HLABS keying and stops midi adapters will function normally. This is a simple way to convert a MOS console into a fully functional midi console that allows both stops and keying midi conversion.
If you are using a midi merger or mergers which may not have opto isolator input, all MIDI converters will be at the same voltage rails (-5 volts to 0 volts). The midi expansion jumpers are not available for this application. The Stops MIDI Converters also are at the same rail voltages for the same reason.
