TWG TRAVELING WAVE GENERATOR ™

The TWG Traveling Wave Generator™ is a compact device that continuously and independently alters the phase of each channel waveform, similar to the behavior of a pipe organ.

Designed for both analog and digital organs, this two-channel unit enhances realism by converting waveforms into more authentic pipe organ tones. It achieves this through slow phase shifting, effectively simulating the natural movement and complexity of pipe organ sound.

For optimal results, we recommend first incorporating the DSP Ambience Processor if your reverberation unit is insufficient, as this provides the greatest acoustical improvement. While the TWG delivers impressive performance as a stand-alone enhancement, the improvement becomes truly remarkable when used in conjunction with the DSP input. The TWG matches the size and color of the DSP for a cohesive setup.

This Traveling Wave Generator is compatible with most organs and audio systems where 120VAC is available. Supported systems include early Allen organs such as MOS 1, MOS 2, ADC, MDC, newer models, Rogers organs, and virtually any system equipped with RCA connections and a nearby 120VAC outlet. A switched outlet is preferred.

Regarding the Traveling Wave Generator

Dear Stan,

I thought I would send a note to let you know how the Easter music sounded. The wave formation is very subtle with just eight flutes, and becomes more apparent with a full registration. The full swell reeds achieved a grandeur that was previously lacking. The mixture now has a sense of gravitas and movement that is truly exciting.

The (two) celestial channels with a programmed trumpet sit beautifully over the top of the full organ, creating an excitement I have never experienced before. Many people came to the console after Mass expressing their delight, with some even wondering where the pipes were.

The movement activated by your TWGs allows the sound to “listen” rather than cause speaker fatigue. I have repositioned the speakers to reflect sound off walls and ceilings, maximizing refraction and movement throughout all areas.
